MODERN OUTDOOR WATER FOUNTAIN
Four Chutes Tipped Forward, So the Water Leaves the Wall
Four trapezoid chutes set into the face of a dark gray column, each one angled forward and downward so water clears the surface instead of sliding down it. Warm light sits inside every chute. At 39.37 inches on a 12.2 by 11.61 inch base it stands over three feet on barely a square foot of ground.
The forward tilt is the whole mechanism. Water leaving a flat wall runs down the wall. Water leaving a chute that points away from the wall falls through open air, so you see a gap behind each stream and hear a proper arrival rather than a slide. That is a different fountain from the same shapes set flush.
Lighting each chute rather than the base means the four falls are individually visible after dark, stepping down the column, with the gray face staying dark between them.
What Makes This Fountain Different
- Tilted chutes, which changes both the look and the sound. Most column fountains let water run down the face, and water in contact with a surface is quiet and visually flat. Angling each chute forward means the stream leaves the column and falls through air, so you see daylight behind it and hear it land. If you want a fountain you can actually hear from a few feet away, this construction is why this one works where a flat faced column does not.
- Three feet on one square foot. 12.2 by 11.61 inches under a 39 inch piece is a narrow footprint, which puts it in a planted bed, a corner beside a door, or along a fence where a wider fountain will not go.
- Light in every chute. Four separate warm sources step down the column rather than one at the base, so the full height is legible after dark and each fall is individually visible.
- Eighteen pounds, which cuts both ways. One person moves it easily, and one person can also knock it over. Against a wall or within planting it is fine. Free standing in a windy open position it is not the right choice.
Four defined arrivals. Because each chute throws the water clear of the column, the streams land rather than slide, so you hear distinct falls with a rhythm rather than a continuous wash. That is livelier than a flat faced column of the same height and it carries a little further. How loud it seems will still shift with the water level and whether it stands against a hard wall, which is why a fixed decibel number would tell you nothing useful about your own space.

Setup, Care, and Warranty
Setup and placement
Fill it, plug it in, done. One person can carry it at 18.74 pounds.
Set it level. On forward tilted chutes an out of plumb column sends the stream past the chute below rather than into it, which puts water outside the fountain.
Wind and stability
At 18.74 pounds and over three feet this is light for its height, and the falls clear the column so wind carries more water away than on a flat faced design. Place it against a wall, a fence, or within planting rather than in an exposed open position.
Water level and daily care
Keep enough water in the base to cover the pump so it never runs dry. Falls that clear the surface lose more to evaporation and drift than water running down a face, so check every few days in warm weather.
Keep the chutes clear. A blockage in one chute sends that stream sideways instead of forward.
Looking after the finish
The dark gray stone texture is painted resin. In hard water areas a pale film builds on the chute lips where the water leaves, and on dark gray it shows quickly. Clean it before it sets. Afternoon shade keeps the color deeper for longer.
Winter storage
Before hard freezes, drain the base and every chute completely, disconnect and store the pump indoors, and dry the piece out. At 18.74 pounds bringing it inside is easy.

Questions Before You Choose
Why does the tilt matter?
Water leaving a flat surface runs down that surface, which is quiet and hard to see. Water leaving a forward angled chute falls through air, so there is a visible gap behind each stream and an audible landing. On a piece this size that is the difference between a fountain you notice and one you do not.
Where does it fit?
A planted bed, a corner beside a door, along a fence, a small patio. The narrow footprint is what makes those work. Clean geometry suits modern paving, gravel, and ornamental grasses rather than a cottage border.
Is it loud enough to matter?
Louder than a flat faced column of the same height, because the water lands rather than slides. It is still a garden fountain rather than a feature wall, so it works at conversational distance and will not mask a road.
Is it safe around children and pets?
At 18.74 pounds and over three feet it is easy to knock over, so keep it against something solid and out of the main running route. Run the cord along a bed edge so it will not catch a foot. The recirculating water is not intended for drinking.
